Simone was born & raised in Surrey, BC where her passion for animals started at a very young age. At 10 years old she started volunteering with animals at a local pet store and from there she volunteered at the Queens Park Petting Zoo where there was a variety of farm animals such as cows, goats, chickens, pigs and rabbits. It was there she fell in love with & adopted her first rabbit- a Lion Mane bunny named Azlan. Simone is an avid volunteer at the Surrey BCSPCA where she is able to care for the rabbits and other small animals. She is a huge supporter of animal rescue and adoption.
By age 15, Simone was volunteering at her first veterinary hospital where she learned the importance of animal health care and in no time at all was hired as a Kennel Attendant. She observed a variety of surgeries, procedures experienced how the hospital ran on a day to day basis. It was there she decided she wanted to become a Veterinary Assistant. In March 2013, she graduated from Granville College as a Veterinary Assistant. Simone joined the team at BVH in late 2015 and has been a pleasure to have around the hospital.
When not busy working, Simone enjoys photography & being in the company of her energetic 11 year old Mini-Schnauzer Fergus & 8 year old rabbit, Azlan. If they’re not out walking along trails or at the beach, they are snuggled up on the couch watching a good Netflix series.
