Danielle won a contest in grade school that allowed her to go behind the scenes and observe the spay surgery of a cat; witnessing that surgery sparked an early interest in animal medicine. After over 10 years in the customer service and retail industry, and a degree in Theatre behind her, Danielle decided to change direction and reignite the spark that was started when she was 9 years old.
In 2014 she graduated from UFV’s veterinary administration assistant program with rave reviews, and after 6 months working in a critical care and specialty hospital, she decided the staff and client family at Burnaby Veterinary Hospital was one she needed to be part of. Danielle loves being the middle connection in helping clients understand and promote their pet’s health, and prides herself in being able to help in the exam rooms, the treatment area, and up front in reception. She thinks that puppy and kitten days are the best days, but will never turn down the chance to watch and clean up after an orthopedic surgery or perform a dental prophylaxis.
When Danielle isn’t snuggling your pets in reception and the exam room, or doing endless amounts of hospital laundry, she’s at home in Burnaby playing ball with her two slightly crazy German Shepherds, Lexi-Lou and Roscoe (both of which are fans of BVH’s famous exam room cookie extravaganza). Danielle’s boyfriend is a mechanic for a local company, and when he’s not working on their own vehicles, he’s loading the dogs and gear into the truck so they can spend time fishing, ATVing, snowmobiling and relaxing at their cabin in BC’s beautiful Cariboo country.
